Dr. Andrew Rudin sees patients through Natural Heart Doctor, a telehealth practice built for people who want a root-cause, natural-first approach to heart health. This page explains who he is, how a consult with him works, and who it is for.
Who he is
Andrew Rudin, MD is a cardiologist and board-certified cardiac electrophysiologist with more than two decades of clinical experience. He trained at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, completed his internal medicine residency at Yale-New Haven Hospital, where he served as chief resident, and completed fellowships in cardiovascular disease and clinical cardiac electrophysiology at Northwestern’s McGaw Medical Center. His specialty is heart rhythm: atrial fibrillation, palpitations, PVCs, and the conditions that drive them. His full training and honors are on the credentials page.
How he practices
After years in the electrophysiology lab performing ablations and implanting devices, Dr. Rudin now works as a consulting cardiologist. He does not prescribe medications or perform procedures. Instead, he reviews your history, labs, imaging, and current treatment plan and gives you a second opinion grounded in both conventional cardiology and the root causes most visits never get to: insulin resistance, chronic inflammation, gut and microbiome health, nutrient deficiencies, sleep, stress, and environmental exposures such as mold, heavy metals, and forever chemicals. When a medication change is worth discussing, he says so and sends you back to your own prescribing physician to make it.
What a consult covers
- A review of your records: labs, echo, stress test, calcium score, monitor reports, and any procedure you have been told you need.
- A plain-language explanation of what the data actually shows, including the absolute (not just relative) benefit of what has been recommended.
- A root-cause workup: which markers to test next and why.
- A written plan covering diet, lifestyle, and whole-food supplements, with specific targets.
- Questions to bring back to your cardiologist or primary care physician.
Who it is for
People with atrial fibrillation or palpitations who want to understand their options beyond ablation and drugs. People who have been told they need a stent, a statin, or a procedure and want an independent read of the evidence. People with high cholesterol, insulin resistance, or a high calcium score who want a plan that addresses the cause. And people who simply want a cardiologist who will look at the whole picture.
Where patients come from
Consults are by video, so location does not matter. Dr. Rudin sees patients across the United States and internationally, including Canada, Europe, Mexico, and Australia. He is licensed in Tennessee; consults are educational second opinions and are not a substitute for care from your own treating physician.
How to book
Consults are scheduled through Natural Heart Doctor. You can book directly at the second-opinion consult page, or read what past patients have said on the patient testimonials page.
